"Havana Never Sleeps" by Daviel Galan
Daviel Galan lives in Cuba. His art is inspired by people who are visually impaired and by those who can see, but struggle to feel for others. We simply should not just see but feel all that is around us. This one statement moved us when our second artist shared the inspiration behind his art. He wants his art to inspire people to feel.
Havana is a vibrant city. Full of color and this road by the ocean is always full of people. Laughing, having fun and enjoying with friends. Through this art, the artist is encouraging us to not just see those moments but to feel the company of others and to cherish those around us. In the original painting (not in the prints), he has braille embedded at the bottom so it can be read by those with visual impairment.
